Introductory Canyons

Empress Canyon

An entry level abseiling and canyoning experience that is an ideal introduction to this amazing adventure sport!

The first part of the day is focussed on acquiring abseiling skills, we start with several short practice abseils and then move up to some higher challenges, the introductory abseiling session is an exciting adventure in its own right!

After lunch we'll test our new skills with a trip through the breathtaking Empress Canyon. The journey takes us deep inside the sandstone cliff, wading, scrambling and jumping into pools!

Once we discover daylight again we’ll need our abseiling skills for a spectacular 30 metre waterfall abseil to exit the canyon. We finish this awesome canyon journey with a short scenic trek back to our starting point!

Sheep Dip / Rocky Creek

This canyon is serious fun! One of the most popular “non-technical” canyoning tours you can do in the Blue Mountains. Sheep Dip doesn't involve any abseiling, however it does have lots of slippery dips, water jumps and interesting scrambles.

This expedition makes for a very exciting day in the wild without the complexity of ropes, rigging and hardware.

The great thing about this trip is that you won’t require any previous experience to participate in what is a very scenic and memorable canyon journey.

Tigersnake Canyon

A memorable journey that doesn’t involve getting very wet!

While Tigersnake is the classic winter canyon tour it’s also a great summer time adventure for those who want to experience something different!

Four exciting abseils up to 25m, one is overhanging and the highlight is the abseil into a deep dark slot into the narrow chasm below. We usually only run this canyon in winter. In most conditions only your feet should get wet, but it could be anywhere up to your thighs.

It is a canyon that is not only physically challenging, but offers some great bushwalking and impressive abseils!
